Each team can have up to seven substitutions, but they can be made when the game is stopped.

Sometimes, the game goes into overtime periods that are for five minutes. During the second half, the two teams exchange courts or baskets. The time allotted is the real playing time, so the clock is stopped once the game becomes inactive. This is the reason the games take longer than the allotted time period. It is enjoyed by the spectators to their heart’s content since they get to watch more of their favorite teams playing. The players need to put on a uniform—a pair of jersey with a unique number printed in the front and back, and shorts. A team comprising the referee, one or two umpires, and the table officials control the game.

·       The players are required to maintain etiquette and discipline during the game. The ball must stay within the court. The ball handler cannot move both feet without dribbling, and a player’s hand must remain on the top of the ball while dribbling. Failing to do is known as carrying the ball. A breach of these rules results in loss of possession. Players who are fouled either receive the ball to pass inbounds again or receive one or more free throws.
